Luis Olmedo’s mantle must be buckling under the weight of all the awards it’s holding up. Fooling Penn & Teller and being named World Champion of Close Up Magic at FISM 2022 are just two of the numerous international awards Luis has accumulated during his career.

These accomplishments become even more impressive when you realize that the supremely-talented close-up magician from Spain did not take a traditional path to professional magic. He actually studied Audiovisual Communications at the University of Malaga and worked an office job before eventually quitting and pursuing his biggest passion: magic.

His first performance after leaving his desk job was not a close-up trick, but rather an insane underwater shark escape act. The rest, as they say, is history. Luis now travels the world performing shows, galas, and keynotes. He’s brought his magic everywhere from New York to Beijing and, as noted earlier, has racked up countless accolades along the way.

Luis is a masterful technician with sensational sleight of hand chops and an uncanny knack for developing intricate and unique close-up illusions. His elegant and artistic performances are truly a joy to watch.
